Once Operation Playoffs is over, time for the page to be turned
Rarely has there been a time of such uncertainty for City supporters, and I don’t talk just of the will we/won’t we make it into the playoffs. (I think we will ? just).
But while the focus for the next few days and (hopefully) weeks will quite rightly be on how to secure a playoff place and then successfully negotiate them, there’s so much more at play. Not for almost three decades has the club been in such a state of flux. Not since Delia and Michael came to the party.
Don’t get me wrong. Change in this instance will hopefully be for the better but as things stand we’re still not sure what that change is going to look like.
We know for certain that Mark Attanasio and his Norfolk Group now have an equivalent stake in Norwich City to Delia Smith and Michael Wynn-Jones, and that he and his people have access to funds far in excess of those available to Smith and Jones. But what we don’t know is how, or indeed if, that will impact our football club.
We also know that Attanasio is already heavily involved and that he is, according to some, already ?calling the shots?. But to what extent we?re not sure given that there is a gentleman?s agreement in place that for the next two-and-a-half years where he and his fellow Norfolk Group board appointee will vote in lockstep with Smith and Wynn-Jones on all shareholding matters.
Quite how much latitude that gives Attanasio and his people to steer the ship in a different direction within...
