The Preview: QPR v Norwich City
After a challenging period where the Canaries had to play five consecutive games against opponents in the Sky Bet Championship playoff places, David Wagner and his players have (on paper) a less challenging fixture as they travel to Loftus Road to face relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers tomorrow afternoon.
We came out of those five fixtures with 10 points from a possible 15, and currently sit ninth in the table but only a point off sixth-placed Hull City and only four off West Brom in fifth.
However, this game has the potential to be a banana skin for City, especially given the fact QPR are unbeaten in their last three league games – gaining wins over Millwall and Blackburn Rovers either side of a 1-1 draw with fellow relegation strugglers Huddersfield Town.
City also have seventh worst away form in the league – picking up just 15 points from a possible 30 on the road and also conceding 30, which is only beaten by bottom-of-the-league Rotherham United?s 34.
Despite those stats making grim reading, the Canaries have got the Rs’ number based on previous meetings. We have won 10 of the last 18 and only lost twice. We have also beaten QPR twice this season with 1-0 wins – once in the Carabao Cup back in August at Loftus Road, and also in the league at home in November.
