OFFICIAL: Courtois has surgery to remove right meniscus

The goalkeeper will miss the remainder of the season. Real Madrid goalkeeper underwent surgery this Wednesday morning to remove the meniscus on his right knee, which he tore during Tuesday?s training session.
Our player Thibaut Courtois underwent successful surgery today for a tear to the internal meniscus of his right knee, under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services. Courtois will start his recovery programme in the next few days.
Source: Realmadrid.com The team?s medical staff ultimately decided to remove that meniscus instead of going for a more conservative treatment. Courtois will miss the next two months while recovering from his injury, which means that he will miss the rest of the 2023-24 season.
The Belgian goalkeeper will be fully ready to regain confidence and form during the pre-season stage this summer. If everything goes according to plan, he should be back in the starting lineup in Real Madrid?s first game of the 2024-25 season.
