Southampton’s new £19million striker signing revealed

Spending the VVD money
Having received a huge £75million from the sale of Virgil Van Dijk, Southampton are ready to reinvest and have agreed a fee for their new striker.
That forward comes in the form of Monaco’s Guido Carrillo and the club have agreed a £19.1million fee with the French champions.
This comes after both Shane Long and Manolo Gabbiadini have struggled for any kind of form this season.
Long scored his only goal of the season recently and his Italian teammate hasn’t fared much better.
Charlie Austin has impressed at times this season but has struggled a little bit with the odd injury.
Now, the club are looking to improve upon their striking woes and it looks as though Carrillo is the man they have chosen.
The player has been impressive for Monaco despite only starting two games this season. Carrillo has made 20 appearances, with 18 of them off the bench but his goal record for Monaco is still pretty impressive.
The player has scored 20 goals in over 50 appearances for the club but it looks as though his move is motivated by first-team desire.
He will certainly be getting that at Southampton and the club will be hoping that he is the man to fire them away from the relegation zone.
The club are at risk of going down and currently sit in the relegation zone in 18th.
Though, there are only four points separating them from 10th as the middle of the Premier League remains tight.
