Nat Phillips has penned a new-long term deal with Liverpool which has now resulted in Rhys Williams heading out on loan.
Liverpool announced Phillips had committed his future to the club on Tuesday after making a good impression under Jurgen Klopp last term in which he made 20 appearances.
Phillips told the club’s website: ‘Obviously after last year, it?s really nice to get that reward from the club. I?m happy to be sticking around and being available if the club need to call on me again.
‘I?m excited for the next chapter and just to see what that brings/
‘It is nice that the club has shown me that recognition and hopefully I can bring more of the same with whatever opportunities come my way.’

Phillips, whose new deal with the Merseyside outfit runs until 2025, has been linked with a move away this summer.
With Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez now back from injury and having £36m centre-back summer signing Ibrahima Konate arriving through the door, Phillips has yet to feature in a matchday squad this season.
But Klopp is keen to use Phillips as part of his plans this term and instead another defender will now leave on loan.
