West Brom have been relegated from the Premier League after Southampton defeated Swansea 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium.
The Baggies required their two rivals to draw on Tuesday evening to maintain any chance of survival but Manolo Gabbiadini’s 72nd-minute strike destroyed the faint hopes of Darren Moore’s men.
While Southampton are not mathematically safe, the victory saw Mark Hughes’ side take a giant stride towards securing Premier League status.
Swansea, meanwhile, are in the relegation zone on goal difference.
