‘Can’t believe’ – Pundit claims Spurs man is deluded for his ambitions this year
Football pundit Gregor Robertson has labelled Ryan Mason’s ambition of becoming Tottenham Hotspur’s next permanent manager as a ‘delusion’ and claims the coach is not ready.
Mason is currently in his second stint as interim manager at Tottenham. He replaced Cristian Stellini, who was also operating as interim manager after Antonio Conte left the club at the end of March.
The 31-year-old has previously held a caretaker position with Spurs in the aftermath of Jose Mourinho‘s sacking back in 2021.

Multiple big names have been linked with the top job at Tottenham, but Mason has not been quiet about his own desire to manage the club on a full-time basis.
After the defeat at Aston Villa last weekend, the young coach once again made it clear that he is eager and willing to take on the role permanently (Daily Mail). There are concerns about the suitability of Mason for the role, however. Alasdair Gold claimed in his column for Football.London that fans would not be pleased to see Mason take the top job.
Now, Robertson has added his voice to those against the idea of Mason being appointed full-time in his latest appearance on The Times’ The Game Football Podcast.
He said: “It’s a stark contrast to the cast of many who shouldn’t be in Premier League dugouts.
