‘I want to leave’- 26-year-old Spurs and Liverpool target makes transfer intentions clear
Rumoured Tottenham target Teun Koopmeiners claims he has already informed Atalanta of his desire to leave the club at the end of the season.
Koopmeiners has been the main engine of Atalanta’s midfield since arriving at the club two and half years ago, with the Dutchman dazzling with his all-round play.
The 26-year-old, who has 12 goals and four assists across all competitions so far this campaign, has been mooted as a target for Spurs by various Italian outlets recently.
This includes an update from the print edition of Tuttosport (via Sport Witness) last month, which claimed that Tottenham have already begun work to sign the Netherlands international.
Gazzetta dello Sport suggested a few weeks ago that Spurs could face competition from Juventus for the 26-year-old’s services while CalcioMercato added that Liverpool could also challenge the Lilywhites for the player.
The latter even asserted that Atalanta have not given up on their hopes of holding on to the Dutchman and are hopeful that he might stay put if they qualify for the Champions League.
