Simon Jordan rubbished the idea that Tottenham Hotspur are trying to cater to tourists by increasing the season ticket prices, insisting that football is not immune to the general inflationary trends.

Tottenham have decided to increase season ticket prices by an average of 6 per cent, with the decision not going down well with large swaths of the fan base.

The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust have said that they are ‘dismayed’ by the club’s move, with many questioning why they felt the need to do that at a time when they are posting big profits.

Some have raised the worry that regular working-class fans will be priced out of attending matches and that the club are looking to sell expensive matchday tickets to tourist supporters or so-called ?plastic fans? instead.
When this suggestion was put to Postecoglou last week, he strongly condemned calling overseas supporters as such, pointing out that they have to be incredibly passionate about Spurs to travel halfway around the world to watch the side play (Football.London).
