Alasdair Gold predicts Spurs may make a ‘left-field’ signing in one areaÂ
Alasdair Gold has said that Tottenham Hotspur could sign a number six independent of their pursuit of Atalanta midfielder Ederson this summer.
It has been widely reported over the last month that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp could exit Hotspur Way this summer and that the Lilywhites could enter the market for a defensive midfielder (Football.London).
Perhaps an addition in that part of the field has become particularly crucial due to Yves Bissouma’s struggles over recent months, with the Mali international’s form dropping off considerably after a strong start to the season.
Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur has not managed to return to his best since returning from his long injury layoff, which is perhaps to be expected given the seriousness of the Urugwayan’s injury and the fact that he was out of action for nearly a year.
