Chelsea are still willing to sell Conor Gallagher before Thursday?s transfer deadline but the midfielder will need some convincing to join Spurs, according to reports.
The 23-year-old has been a standout performer for the west Londoners this season but, as an academy graduate, his sale would count as pure profit and go a long way to ensuring the club stay within financial fair play limits.
Chelsea rejected several offers for Gallagher in the summer, the biggest of which was a £42million bid from West Ham, but they could now cash in.
According to The Times, Tottenham ? who held talks over Gallagher in the summer ? are seriously considering a renewed approach despite there only being two days left in the transfer window.
Any move for the England international was always likely to be opportunistic and Chelsea?s failure to offload any other academy players, namely Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah, could see them lower their asking price.
Spurs, though, would likely need to offload Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in order to proceed with a move for Gallagher, but the Dane looks set to remain in north London until the summer.
Speaking this week, Hojbjerg?s lawyer, Lars Halgreen, explained: ?The player never asked to leave now.
