Crystal Palace chairman ‘astounded’ by lack of interest in Eberechi Eze despite Spurs links

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish says that while he is glad to have hung on to Eberechi Eze, he is astounded by the lack of interest in the attacking midfielder.

Tottenham were linked with Eberechi Eze
Eze was mooted as one of the names at the top of Tottenham?s wishlist at the start of the summer window (GiveMeSport).
Several outlets even suggested that the Lilywhites had explored the possibility of activating the attacking midfielder?s release clause, which was thought to be worth £60m plus add-ons (The Times).
However, a move seemingly never came from the North London club for the England international, whose release clause eventually expired around two weeks before the transfer window closed (Fabrizio Romano).
Tottenham were not the only ones credited with an interest in Eze, with the likes of Liverpool and Man City also thought to have eyed the player (Miguel Delaney –Reading the Game newsletter – 23/8/).
However, in the end, the former QPR man did not come close to leaving Selhurst Park, much to the relief of Palace and Parish.
