Former Spurs player thinks 27-year-old will be desperate to leave the club this summer
Alan Hutton has said that he cannot see Giovani Lo Celso staying at Tottenham beyond this summer as the midfielder would be desperate for some continuity in his career as he approaches his peak years.
Lo Celso is set to enter the final year of his contract at Spurs and it has been widely reported over recent weeks that the midfielder’s five-year spell at Tottenham is expected to come to an end this summer.
This includes an update by Estadio Deportivo last week, which suggested that the Argentine is keen to leave in search of regular game time and wants to return to his former club Real Betis, who are plotting a move to re-sign him.
However, a couple of days ago, TuttoMercatoWeb asserted that Tottenham are expected to block the 27-year-old’s exit from the club this summer.
It was explained that even though Ange Postecoglou has used him sparingly this season, the Australian valued the midfielder as a squad player.
The publication asserted that Spurs are planning to offer a two-year extension to Lo Celso and propose an improved salary to convince him to remain at the club.
