Following Arsenal’s Champions League quarterfinal defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich, Jamie Carragher has said that the current Gunners side are in danger of becoming nearly men like Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham side.

While Spurs came close to winning the Premier League title and the Champions League under Pochettino, they failed to cross the final hurdle and get their hands on a trophy during the Argentine’s five-and-a-half-year spell in charge.

Tottenham fans still sometimes look back on the team that the club had assembled at the time and wonder how they did not get their hands on any silverware.

While Mikel Arteta did lead Arsenal to the FA Cup in his first season in charge, over the last couple of years, the Gunners have also slipped up in the final hurdle when it comes to the Premier League title race.

Carragher compares Arsenal to 2019 Tottenham

Earlier this week, their hopes of winning the Champions League were ended by Bayern, and ironically, it was two Spurs players, Harry Kane and Eric Dier, who played an important part in doing so.
