Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus has slammed the club?s January transfer dealings after the defending Bundesliga champions were linked with Kieran Tripper following the signing of Eric Dier.
Bayern have attempted to use the January transfer window to find cover, with key defensive duo Noussair Mazraoui and Kim Min-Jae at the Africa Cup of Nations and Asian Cup respectively.
Tottenham centre-back Dier made a surprise switch to join up with former teammate Harry Kane, while reports have suggested the Bavarian Giants are interested in experienced Newcastle full-back Kieran Trippier.
However, both moves have caught the ire of Matthaus, who criticised the slapdash nature of the decision to go after Trippier.
?That’s not Bayern Munich for me. Bayern should focus on reinforcement or on young players,? the former midfielder said, speaking on the Sky90 podcast.
