Michael Dawson says Spurs have to upgrade on 26-year-old this summer
Michael Dawson has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur desperately need a new top-class centre-forward this summer.
Richarlison has impressive numbers this season and has seemingly turned a corner after a difficult first season at Tottenham. However, the Brazilian’s injury owes have continued, with the forward spending several spells on the sidelines across the campaign.
While Son Heung-min has done well as a number nine on a few occasions, over the last few months, the forward’s weaknesses in that role have been exposed, with the South Korean struggling to get into the game against well-organised defences.
It has been widely reported over the last few months that Tottenham are expected to enter the market this summer for a marquee number nine to fill Harry Kane’s shoes (Football Insider).

Dawson wants Richarlison out and Eze in at Tottenham
Dawson believes that is exactly what Tottenham need ahead of next season, suggesting that Richarlison is not of the required level while Son is not well suited to the centre-forward role.
The pundit told Sky Sports (04/05/24 at 5:35 pm): “I think they need a number 9. I think Richarlison, they spent all that money, Son we have seen last week and in recent games, he is not a number 9, he is better out on the left, and he changed Kulusevski.”
Dawson suggested that Tottenham should also be exploring deals for Crystal Palace duo Ebereche Eze and Michael Olise....
