James Maddison did not take kindly to Neal Maupay copying his darts goal celebration after giving Brentford the lead over Tottenham on Wednesday night.
Maddison is a big darts fan and has long celebrated his goals by throwing an imaginary arrow towards the crowd in an homage to the oche.
However, it was Maupay aiming at the invisible treble 20 on Wednesday after scoring for the Bees 15 minutes into their clash with Spurs in north London.
The Frenchman, who is never afraid of winding up opponents, scored a scrappy goal and then copied Maddison’s celebration, with Ivan Toney joining his teammate in the darts stance.
The Brentford pair certainly enjoyed their joke, having a good laugh about it, but Maddison was less impressed.
The England international gave Maupay a pat on the back of the head after the celebration which could have been friendly, but it quickly got tetchy as the Frenchman gave him a meatier slap back and the pair briefly tussled.
It was handbags, but clearly the Spurs star felt disrespected by the impish Bee.
