Football Transfers have now said that Juventus could enter the race for Atalanta midfielder Ederson, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Various reliable sources, including Football.London?s Alasdair Gold, have claimed over the last few weeks that Spurs are keen on adding a number six to their squad and that Ederson is one of the names at the top of their wishlist.

However, the Lilywhites are not thought to be alone in their admiration for the midfielder, with the likes of Atletico Madrid (Marca), Barcelona (Mundo Deportivo) and Manchester United (Goal) credited with an interest in the Brazilian.

If Football Transfers’ latest update is to be believed, Spurs might also have to contend with competition from Juventus for the Ederson.
It is explained that the Old Lady are keen on bolstering their options in the middle of the park and have identified Ederson’s Atalanta teammate Teun Koopmeiners as their top target.

However, the Dutchman is expected to cost over ?50m (£42.8m), which is why the Bianconeri could decide to turn their attention to cheaper options, including Ederson.

What is implicit in this report by Football Transfers is that Juventus expect Ederson to cost less than £42m. I would be extremely surprised if that is the case as Atalanta tend to drive a hard bargain and demand top dollar for their players.
