Report: Man United make ‘initial contact’ with Spurs over potential signing
In a surprising turn of events, Manchester United have contacted Tottenham Hotspur to try and negotiate a deal for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg before the transfer window closes.
Hojbjerg had been a regular starter for Tottenham during the tenure of both Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte and was thought to be a key member of the leadership group at the club.

Despite Spurs’ woes in general last season, Hojbjerg was able to register 12 goal contributions across 44 appearances for the Lilywhites in the 2022/23 campaign (Transfermarkt).
However, since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou, there have been question marks raised over the suitability of the Danish midfielder. Hojbjerg appears to have slipped down the pecking order at Spurs, and has had to settle for just two substitute appearances so far this season. It has previously been suggested that Hojbjerg is one of a handful of players that Tottenham are actively looking to sell this summer (Daily Mail).
