Report: Tottenham Hotspur are now interested in signing West Ham star
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking at signing West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd as the North London side look to bring stability to their defensive line.
Aguerd signed for West Ham in the summer of 2022 and has impressed many with his performances for the Hammers this season.
The Moroccan has made 18 appearances so far, and scored his first Premier League goal at the weekend in a 1-0 win against Southampton (Transfermarkt).
The 27-year-old has racked up 30 appearances for Morocco too (Transfermarkt), and featured in four games for his country at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as his side reached the semi-finals of the tournament.
Less than a year into his tenure at West Ham, Aguerd is already attracting attention from elsewhere, and the latest report from Jeunes Footeux suggests Tottenham would be eager to bring the player across London to solve their defensive issues. Apparently, the Lilywhites have been looking at Aguerd “closely” and are considering a move for the centre half.
It is thought Aguerd would bring the “stability” that is needed to fix the “fragile” back line at Spurs.
This report emerges as doubts remain over Clement Lenglet, who is currently on loan from Barcelona for the season.
According to Jeunes Footeux, Lenglet is “likely” to leave Spurs at the end of the season.
