Report: West Ham are set to challenge Tottenham for Serie A star
CalcioMercato have now revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now facing a challenge from West Ham United for the services of Genoa attacking midfielder Albert Gudmundsson.
Gudmundsson is having an outstanding season at Stadio Luigi Ferraris and his reputation has been further enhanced during the international break, owing to his hattrick against Israel in the Euro qualifier on Thursday.
Over the last month, Spurs Web has relayed a whole host of reports from Italy which have backed the Lilywhites to make a move for the Genoa star when the transfer window reopens in June (Tuttosport).

West Ham enter the race for Albert Gudmundsson
CalcioMeracto have now provided a comprehensive update on Gudmundsson’s future, explaining that Tottenham not only have to deal with competition from the Italian sides but also from closer to home.
The report claims that West Ham have also joined the queue for the midfielder, asserting that the Lilywhites and the Hammers are now ‘at the forefront’ in the race for the player.
The report backs up what we have already heard from other sources by suggesting that Genoa’s ?30m (ÂŁ25.7m) asking price might put off the likes of Juventus and Inter from making a move for the 26-year-old.
However, the publication adds that the Serie A sides could get around that by offering some of their own players in exchange for Gudmundsson, asserting that Inter are contemplating using midfielder Valentin Carbo...
