Spurs are yet to decide on 28-year-old’s future ahead of the summer – Journalist
Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has said that Tottenham Hotspur are yet to decide on Timo Werner’s future but admitted that he expects the club to take up the option to sign the forward permanently.
Some eyebrows were raised when Tottenham signed Werner on loan from RB Leipzig in January, given the German’s previous struggles in the Premier League with Chelsea.
However, the 28-year-old has proven to be an excellent fit for Ange Postecolgou’s system, proving a potent threat in the final third for the Lilywhites so far.
It was reported by TEAMtalk earlier this week that Werner is extremely keen to remain at Hotspur Way beyond the end of the season and has informed his representatives of the same.
Football Insider then reported on Thursday that Spurs are expected to activate the £15m option to buy Werner permanently but only if they qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Bridge has now suggested that the decision for Spurs could be a straightforward one if Werner keeps producing, given the low fee involved.
When asked if Tottenham will active the option to buy Werner, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “With the fee that they can pay, which isn’t a lot of money in today’s world, I think Tottenham will consider it [keeping Werner on a permanent basis].
