Tottenham dealt a blow in pursuit of Arne Slot after claim from his assistant
Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Arne Slot, after his assistant insisted he will not be leaving Feyenoord this summer.
The North London side are on the hunt for a new permanent manager after parting ways with Antonio Conte at the end of March.

Since then, Conte’s assistant Cristian Stellini lasted just four games as interim manager. Ryan Mason is now Acting Head Coach at Spurs until the end of the season.
Multiple names have been linked with the vacant post, including the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Xabi Alonso, though both of those have seemingly been ruled out in the past week (Evening Standard and BILD Leverkusen).
On May 17, the Telegraph claimed Tottenham were stepping up their interest in Arne Slot and that Feyenoord were preparing for the possibility of the coach leaving this summer. However, things just got a little bit more complicated, as Slot’s trusted assistant John de Wolf has told NPO’s Taxi Castricum show that he is personally going nowhere.
He said: “We haven’t talked about that at all.
“I once said [to Slot] in the early stages, don’t listen to any other club in the Netherlands anyway.”
When asked what he would do if Slot were to join Tottenham Hotspur, de Wolf simply said: “I would wish him good luck [at Spurs].
