Arsenal and Tottenham are set to launch £100m moves to sign Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
While Eddie Howe has insisted that the Swedish forward is not for sale, the north London clubs are hoping to take advantage of Newcastle’s financial situation.
Newcastle chief executive Darren Eales has admitted that the club may have to sell some players to comply with profit and sustainability rules (PSR).
?If we?re going to get to where we want to get to, at times it is necessary to trade your players,? he said in January. ‘In the world of PSR, everybody has their price.’
Isak has been in impressive form for the Magpies this season, producing 14 goals across 21 Premier League appearances.
The 24-year-old, who is mainly deployed as a centre-forward but can also be used as a winger, is under contract with Newcastle until 2028.
Since joining Newcastle from Real Sociedad in a £60m deal two years ago, Isak has conjured up a total of 28 goals and four assists in 58 games for the Magpies.
