Club refused to sign Watford defender because of his ?lack of speed? – Was offered to them
It seemed like Watford defender Mattie Pollock could have been heading somewhere else in this transfer window, but the transfer is simply not happening.
That’s today reported by the Belgian media, where Le Soir has a story about Charleroi’s winter market.
The outlet writes that while the club look for a central defender, agent Mogi Bayat offered the transfer of Pollock from Watford.
That possibility, however, was not approved by the Belgian side. It’s said that his arrival was ‘never a priority’ because of his ‘lack of speed’.
Le Soir writes that Pollock is then not the preferred option for Charleroi, who shall continue with their pursuit for a new centre-back. Pollock rejoined Watford last summer, following his six-month spell at Scottish side Aberdeen.
Since his return to Vicarage Road, he made eight appearances, but all as a substitute at the end of games, with a total of just 105 minutes on the pitch.
That’s why it’s no surprise that he’s being offered around, looking for more playing time, but it seems he’ll need to be on the table of more clubs to get that transfer.
