Arsenal make teenager Lino Da Cruz Sousa their first January signing

Arsenal have completed their first January signing, bringing in teenage full-back Lino Da Cruz Sousa from West Brom, according to reports.
The 16-year-old has been playing for the Baggies’ Under-18s and caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs, playing at left-back.
He has Brazilian family but his talents have been recognised by the England set-up, appearing at Under-16 and Under-16 level for the Three Lions.
Football.London report that Arsenal have beaten their rivals to his signature and that Da Cruz Sousa has already linked up with his new teammates in north London.
Clearly, having not made a senior appearance for West Brom yet, the teenager is not set to go into the first team at Arsenal, but is a signing for the future, with his 17th birthday later this month.

West Brom’s Under-18’s coach, Peter Gilbert, said of the youngster: ‘Lino?s an athletic full-back, reads the game well, has a lovely left foot and it’s not often a 16-year-old plays an entire season with the 18s, but that?s credit to him because he has so much potential.’
