“It’s for the titles” – Player says he was paid well by West Ham, but left for glory elsewhere

Galatasaray attacker Sofiane Feghouli has spoken to Football Agence France about his time in England with West Ham United, and what he wants to achieve in Turkey.
The Algerian international joined Galatasaray from the Hammers last summer in a reported ?5.5m deal, after spending just one season with West Ham.
Now settled under new boss Fatih Terim, the Algerian has become a key player at the Turkish club, alongside former Swansea striker Bafetimbi Gomis, and Feghouli was asked why he chose to head to Turkey: ?First of all it’s not about money. I have already been making good money in England. They have ben paying me well, but once I realised I needed to compete for the titles, I just decided it’s time to leave. So it’s not about money, it’s for the titles.? Feghouli also said he was not happy at West Ham under Slaven Bilic, and said: ?At West Ham, I realised I wasn’t happy for a while. I needed to find a project like Valencia to compete with the trophies, and I think I found it.?
