Allardyce claims ex-PL forward could be 'massive hit' at West Ham after Alan Brazil suggests him

Alan Brazil suggested West Ham should try to rival Everton for the services of Atletico Madrid attacker Diego Costa.
The Sun reported on Wednesday that the 30-year-old forward was ready to return to the Premier League and that he was open to discussing a move to the Toffees.
Brazil suggested Costa would be a good signing for the Hammers to make and Sam Allardyce replied to show he agreed.
“If he is unhappy at Athletico and it hasn’t quite record then he should come back here where he is really appreciated by certainly all the Chelsea boys,” said Allardyce on talkSPORT (8:35am, Thursday, July 11th).
“As a centre-forward, he was really difficult to handle, I think he played for Chelsea against Sunderland when we managed to beat them 3-2 in order to stay up that season, but I think he scored two in that game. “He is just so clever with the ball, at holding the ball up.
“It doesn’t matter about his salary, pay it, y’know if the fee isn’t that great, if it’s not huge as he is getting on a little bit, big salaries are what you have to pay for a goalscorer.
“What you reap, you reward, don’t you"
“If he can get West Ham into the top half of the table and pushing on that little bit further into Europe with his goals, he is definitely the type of player who can be a massive hit.”
