Glenn Hoddle names England stars who will miss Euro 2024 because of Kobbie Mainoo

Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo’s place in the England squad is bad news for West Ham duo Kalvin Phillips and James Ward-Prowse.
That’s the opinion of former Three Lions manager Glenn Hoddle who reckons the midfield duo now have little chance of going to Euro 2024.
While Jarrod Bowen has a good chance of representing the Irons in Gareth Southgate’s squad the same cannot be said for their other English stars.
Despite his impressive form, Ward-Prowse hasn’t been capped since June 2022, while Phillips has lost his place in the squad with his loan spell at West Ham from Manchester City going disasterously.
The 28-year-old has been error-prone since arriving at the London Stadium, and after giving away a penalty in the 4-3 loss to Newcastle last Saturday, he was filmed giving the middle finger to a West Ham fan.
‘It’s not just at the weekend, there’s a few things that have happened. He gave a goal away [on his debut] here a few weeks back,’ Hoddle said on TNT Sports in regards to Phillips’ form.
‘So he’s on a downer, but you need support. There?s no doubt he’s a good footballer, he really is. When you’re out for that length of time at the top level, you’re not going to switch it on like a light. It’s going to need a little bit more time.
