This is the moment a hero West Ham fan took on a crowd of balaclava-clad football hooligans all by himself.

Players clashed with AZ Alkmaar supporters yesterday evening after West Ham secured their place in the Europa Conference League final.

Footage shows AZ’s fans descending on rival supporters in the hospitality section.

Many sat in that section were either friends or family of the West Ham players and several members of Moyes’s squad and coaching staff, including captain Declan Rice and sporting director Mark Noble.

But one man is filmed single-handedly pushing the hooligans away, preventing them from making it up the stairs.
He is filmed fighting a huge surge of balaclava-clad AZ supporters – but not one manages to match up against him.

The mystery hero is not the only West Ham fan who helped fight against the yobs, with supporter ‘Knollsy’ also being named as helping protect the players’ families.

Freddie Bonfanti, who posted pictures of ‘the legend’, wrote on Twitter: ‘We were sitting behind Thilo Kerher’s girlfriend.
