West Ham United starlet George Earthy has been discharged from hospital after his horror head injury against Fulham on Sunday.

The 19-year-old came on for his senior Premier League debut after 82 minutes with the Hammers trailing 2-0 thanks to goals from Andreas Pereira.

Just minutes later however he was involved in a heavy collision with teammate Edson Alvarez while going for a high ball.

Medical staff immediately entered the pitch with the midfielder given oxygen before being carried off on a stretcher. Speaking after the game, West Ham boss David Moyes confirmed Earthy was ?awake? and had been taken to a local hospital for further tests.

The teenager has now returned home and will follow FA and Premier League concussion guidelines before returning to action.
Richard Collinge, Performance Director at West Ham United, said: ?George is back home and we will continue to monitor him over the coming days as he completes the graduated return to play programme.?

Earthy was part of the West Ham side that won the FA Youth Cup last season, making his club debut off the bench as a late substitute in the win over Freiburg in the Europa League round of 16.
