?If you don?t know where you are going, you?ll end up someplace else.?-Yogi Berra Paul Wanner was very impressive during a couple of seasons with Bayern Munich?s U-17 and U-19 squads. Rather than spending this season on the bench, the 18-year-old agreed to a loan spell with Elversberg in the second division of the Bundesliga. The team will finish mid-table, but Wanner has logged over 1,400 minutes as an attacking midfielder.
According to a report from Sky Sport News (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern has been pleased with Wanner?s continued progress. In his last season as a teenager, Bayern plans to loan him out again. But this move will be to a first division squad, where Wanner will pick up more valuable minutes. If all goes as planned, Wanner will return to Munich as a 20-year-old contributor to the senior squad with plenty of professional experience. This will come at a crucial time as Thomas Müller, Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sané, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, and Kingsley Coman will all be past their prime playing years.
