Inevitable happens as Southampton expected to drop transfer requests – Pre-agreed amounts ignored
On deadline day, Juventus signed Carlos Alcaraz from Southampton on a loan deal with an option to buy set at ?49.5m.
The Argentine has had 24 minutes of action from two games for the Serie A side so far.
Calciomerctao have a report on the Italian club?s plans for the Southampton owned player.
It?s said Massimiliano Allegri plans to offer him more minutes between now and the end of this season, after which the Old Lady have to make a decision.
Southampton are interested in Juve’s MatÃas Soulé and irrespective of what happens on this front, Calciomercato state there are two ways for Russel Martin?s side to allow Alcaraz to continue at Juventus.
It’s claimed Juve want the Championship side to lower the price tag so that they can buy the South American. This is the first option and the second one is to extend Alcaraz?s loan stay for one more year, probably by including a conditional obligation as part of the deal.
Calciomercato say the ball is in Southampton?s court and they have a decision to make, but in reality, the Saints can recall Alcaraz, if Juve don?t exercise the purchase option.
Juventus not wanting to pay anything like the clause amount was always the likely outcome here. Italian clubs have a long record of similar and should they want to keep Alcaraz then an attempt at another loan is the likeliest route they’ll try first.
