‘All we can do’ – Maddison sends message to fans after he was dropped against Chelsea
James Maddison has admitted that the players are hugely disappointed with what they have produced of late and vowed that they will continue working hard to put things right.
There was a general acknowledgement from Spurs fans at the start of the season that this would be a transitional campaign and that there would be a few bumps along the way.
The expectations got reset due to the impressive start that Tottenham made to the season, which got many dreaming that this project could be ahead of schedule.
However, that has proven not to be the case, with Spurs now struggling defensively as well as going forward and really limping towards the finish line.
Ange Postecoglou was candid with his assessment of the squad, telling Football.London on Friday that significant changes are needed this summer, with the club requiring players who are better suited to his style of play.

James Maddison wants to get Spurs back on track
Maddison is one of several Tottenham players who have gone off the boil recently, so much so that the attacking midfielder was dropped from the starting eleven against Chelsea.
On the back of the 2-0 loss at Stamford Bridge, the 27-year-old took to Instagram to write: “Disappointed with our performances of late. Working hard to put it right. That?s all we can do.”
