‘Grouchy and snappy’ – Tottenham star opens up on his injury nightmare
James Maddison admitted that he struggled to cope with his extended injury layoff earlier in the season and that the frustration often crept into his personal life.
Some players just fit into certain clubs like hand to glove and that is certainly the case with Maddison at Tottenham. Spurs have had a history of creative midfielders with flair, which is why it has not taken a long time for supporters to fall in love with the 27-year-old.
The attacking midfielder had a sensational start to his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, arguably being the best player on show across the Premier League in the first few months of the season.
However, just when it seemed like he was about to go from strength to strength, Maddison picked up an ankle injury at the start of November which kept him out of action for the next three months.

James Maddison hates being out injured
The Spurs star, who is a father of three, including two newborn twins, admitted that the injury even interfered with his duties as a dad.
He told Sky Sports: “Physically it was tough because I ruptured the ligaments in my ankle which affected everything in my life. You?re on crutches, you?re in a boot, you can?t get around the house, you can?t really be a dad.”
