‘I still dream’ – Pundit wishes Arsenal could poach one Tottenham starÂ
Former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke has rued the fact that the Gunners did not sign James Maddison, admitting that he dreams that they could perhaps target the Tottenham man in the future.
If not for Maddison’s ankle injury, which saw him miss almost three months of football before eventually returning to action against Manchester City last week, he would have been in with a shout of Player of the Season.
Such has been the attacking midfielder’s impact since arriving at Spurs in the summer. Not only has he looked completely at home as the number ten in Ange Postecoglou’s system but he has also quickly become a leader in the dressing room, having been made vice-captain.
The 27-year-old is also evidently someone who wears his heart on his sleeve and has thus quickly become a fan favourite among the Tottenham fan base.
Spurs fans will be hoping that Maddison can carry on from where he left off before his injury and steer the club to a top-four finish.
