Pundit thinks Spurs could land rumoured striker target if they offer a ‘huge fee’
Former West Ham United and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie has said that despite Eddie Howe’s recent hands-off warning, Newcastle will likely accept a big offer for Tottenham target Alexander Isak this summer.
Isak has emerged as one of the best centre-forwards in the Premier League since arriving at Newcastle in the summer of 2022 and has become a fan favourite at St James’ Park.
The 24-year-old netted twice in the 4-0 win over Tottenham last Saturday, taking his goal tally for the campaign to 21 strikes across all competitions.
It was reported by The Sun two weeks ago that the Magpies might have to sell some of their players in order to comply with FFP regulations, with Isak potentially being on the chopping block.
The outlet claimed that Newcastle were bracing themselves for bids from both Spurs and Arsenal for the centre-forward, who they allegedly value at £100m.

However, Howe dismissed the transfer speculation last week, insisting that the striker is very much part of his plans for next season (Fabrizio Romano).
When asked if he can see the centre-forward leaving Newcastle this summer, McAvennie has now told Football Insider: “Clubs will definitely be looking to sign Isak. There?s Tottenham and Arsenal who both seem keen on him. But Man United would not be a good destination for him as they just don?t create chances.
