Frank Lampard set for West Brom talks to replace Sam Allardyce as manager

Frank Lampard is in contention to replace Sam Allardyce as West Bromwich Albion manager this summer and is set to hold talks with the club.
Allardyce is leaving the Hawthorns after the club was relegated from the Premier League under his stewardship this season.
Former Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has emerged as the clear favourite with the bookmakers to replace Big Sam, but the Sun reports that Lampard is in the running.
The former Chelsea manager is set to be interviewed for the role and has the chance to impress Baggies bosses.
Lampard was sacked by Chelsea in January after a difficult first half of the Premier League season as he struggled to integrate a string of new signings into his team.
However, a solid first season with the Blues after a decent first year in management at Derby County and Lampard’s reputation has not been completely tarnished by his ousting from Stamford Bridge.
The former England star revealed last month that he had already received ‘flattering’ offers to return to management, but turned them down.
‘I?ve had some opportunities that have come up in the last six weeks, two months, that have been flattering but not the right thing,’ Lampard said in a Q&A ahead of the London Football Awards in support of Willow Foundation in April.
