Having arrived at Arsenal on loan from Brentford last summer, David Raya has been the first-choice goalkeeper for Mikel Arteta. His displays have seen him continually called up by Spain, including for the ongoing international break.
On Wednesday, the goalkeeper was speaking to the Spanish media and Marca have relayed his comments. As well as discussing football, he was asked about his personal life, and more specifically about his pet dog Goku, which is an XL Bully.
The UK government has banned the breed and there was a deadline for pet owners to register their dogs. Earlier claims in the English press explained the Arsenal stopper kept his pet, after receiving an exemption certificate.
This is also echoed by Marca, who then relay the 28-year-old?s quotes about the situation with his dog. With regards to information published in the English media about his pet, he said: ?It’s a breed that has been outlawed in the country, I got him a year ago, I’m training him to be a good dog, a house dog and to keep us company. I wasn’t training him so that no one would want to come into the house, but you know what the media is like.?
The Spain international?s heroics during the penalty shootout against Porto helped Arsenal make it to the Champions League quarter-final, where they will face Bayern Munich. Raya says he?s pleased to have played a part in helping the Gunners.
Raya has kept 13 clean sheets and conceded 23 goals from 26 games this season.
