SPURS HAMMERING CHANGES DYNAMIC OF SUNDAY – OR DOES IT"
The Premier League weekend got off to a bang with Spurs losing 4-0 to Newcastle in horrendous fashion. Angeball is coming unstuck of late and this was another example of what happens when you start to get sussed in the Premier League. Not too many Arsenal fans complaining we should have signed Maddison over Havertz now, are there"
This does alter the maths a touch for the game tomorrow but I doubt Unai Emery has the squad to do much differently.
Villa is now outright 4th place having played the same amount of games as Spurs. A win against Arsenal, combined with Spurs death run of matches, could all but secure Villa a Champions League spot. A magnificent achievement for the man who made the gilet central to men’s fashion 5 years ago. Spurs should really be hoping Arsenal win their next two games this week, because the UEFA Coefficients has England in third place after a dismal showing last week. There will be no 5th place Champions League spot as things stand.
Ange will get European football next season and my prediction is that is likely to be his undoing, a little like it was when Conte made Champions League above Arsenal and his world collapsed the following season.
Emery has two choices at the weekend: he rests his big names, puts kids in and gets walloped. Or he goes all in on a first team, at best, lands a draw, then has issues against a rested Lille with a very good home record in the week. Emery is already talking about his worries around the consequences...
