Leon Goretzka believes Bayern can turn it around



The Bayern Munich midfielder is not ready to bail on the season after a rough stretch and thinks the squad can rebound. In an interview with FCBayern.com, midfielder Leon Goretzka insisted that there was no reason to get down on the season and that things will turn around. Goretzka acknowledged the team was experiencing some difficulties, but that ultimately the talent and quality of Bayern Munich will show itself:
It?s an empty phrase but it fits best: Football is a day-to-day business. What happened in the last few weeks is completely irrelevant, it?s the here and now that counts. We?re not playing the best or most spectacular football at the moment, so the coverage is negative. But we can turn it around just as quickly. That?ll be our task now. We?ll have the opportunities to do it in the upcoming week. Specifically, Goretzka knows what will turn things around (hint, he?s not wrong):
Victories! And better football. At the end of the day it?s about our displays on the pitch. How we get to that level is completely irrelevant.
Despite any struggles the team may be experiencing, Goretzka knows that the squad must focus on AEK Athens and then quickly transition for its Der Klassiker date with Borussia Dortmund:
We must focus on taking the right step. We?re playing in front of our own fans at the Arena, so we?re really up for it. We want to play good football there.
