The Italian media now dismisses the chances of Napoli using their buying clause to permanently sign Hamed Junior Traorè from Bournemouth in the summer.
There was a time when this possibility even seemed open, as the only certainty was that the Serie A side would not buy Leander Dendoncker, who’s on loan from Aston Villa.
Now as Calcio Mercato writes about the two players, they claim that Traorè’s redemption ‘moves away’.
The outlet points out that the Bournemouth player even had chances to prove himself at Napoli in the past few months, but couldn’t really convince that he’s worth that amount.
The latest displays from Traorè should result in him getting less playing time at the Serie A side, with a ‘more marginal role’. Now with him giving no ‘concrete reasons’ to be bought for ?25m, it remains to be seen whether Napoli will at least try to negotiate a fee with Bournemouth.
Italian clubs often ignore those buying clauses, as they always try to negotiate the purchases for less money, so it’s not really a shock that’s happening again.
It can’t even be ruled out that they’ll purposefully use Traorè less, to the detriment of the team, to help them in negotiations.
