John Textor close to deal – Crystal Palace shareholder with whirlwind transfer operation on the go
Crystal Palace owner John Textor is on the verge of agreeing a deal for Real Betis winger Luiz Henrique, although the player could be heading to Lyon or Botafogo.
That?s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the group that own the three clubs are working to sign the Brazilian for ?20m.
They report that Real Betis have an agreement that is ?well advanced? with the Textor Group, who are major shareholders in Botafogo, Lyon and Crystal Palace, for the Brazilian to become their property.
They?ve moved quickly in something of a whirlwind move for the youngster, who has been linked with a move away from Betis throughout the January transfer window.
Betis are now waiting for the operation to be completed so that they can use the money to do their own business and add to Manuel Pellegrini?s squad. The belief is that Henrique will initially move to France to sign for Lyon but because of issues with their non-EU quota in the squad they?ll be sending him on loan to Botafogo for six months first. Crystal Palace, it seems, isn’t going to be the destination unless things change in the coming days.
Perhaps they will be in future if the winger impresses as transfers between the Textor owned clubs are ?common? according to Mundo.
