Among all the problems besetting Everton right now, the proposed takeover by 777 Partners has been pushed to one side.
Despite agreeing a deal to buy Everton all the way back in September, the American group?s takeover is yet to be ratified by the Premier League, who are seemingly in no rush to do so either.
In the intervening time, it?s been a rough period for the group, whose other projects in football all appear to be stuck in the mud or struggling financially, as ABC Sevilla cover today.
They?ve held an interview with Sevilla President José María del Nido Carrasco, who took up the role at the end of last year, ousting his father from the position in the process.
He?s been in a war of words with him ever since, with the former president making his opinions clear behind the scenes and an ongoing battle that?s doing nothing but dragging Sevilla down. Like Everton, they too have found themselves beset by money problems and unaided by 777 Partners, who hold a minority stake in the Spanish club.
It?s led to questions being asked about the Americans and their involvement, and plenty of worry too, at least according to the new president, who has admitted he and his father are worried by the group, even referencing the failing takeover at Everton.
?The information I control indicates that 777 has problems in all the clubs it controls or participates in, which seems like another reason for Del Nido Benavente’s desperation,? he said.
