Everton have seen a deadline day effort to sign Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Jakub Moder rejected by the player, who would prefer to stay with the Seagulls.
That?s according to SportoweFakty, who report that Moder ?received a transfer offer? from Everton but provided them with a ?clear answer?, which was no.
They explain that Moder has managed to overcome knee issues in recent weeks to get back to full fitness, appearing sporadically for Brighton and getting minutes under his belt.
He is far from his best but there is confidence he can get back to that, even outside of Brighton, who received an offer from Everton ?in recent hours?.
They reportedly offered to take Moder on loan until the end of the season, looking to bolster Sean Dyche?s midfield options as they have been left short by injuries in recent weeks. Moder, though, wasn?t interested in the switch. According to SportoweFakty, he rejected the idea of a move to Goodison Park and decided to stay with Brighton for now.
Why that is the case isn?t made clear, although the fact Brighton sit eighth and Everton in 18th presumably has something to do with it.
Either way, it seems Everton put a proposal forward and the player rejected it outright, so they need to look elsewhere for any potential last-minute additions.
