Everton were one of the clubs to have failed in their efforts to sign Watford?s Yáser Asprilla on deadline day.
That?s according to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share this information.
He explains that Everton and Sporting ?made attempts? to take the 20-year-old away from Watford yesterday.
The two clubs made offers to sign the attacking midfielder, but the journalist didn?t reveal the details of their proposals. However, he stated the figures proposed by both the Toffees and the Portuguese club ?didn?t satisfy? the Hornets.
Therefore, Sean Dyche?s side and the Lions were ?unsuccessful? in their late attempts to acquire the Colombia international?s services.
Operating mainly on the right wing and at times in various other positions, he?s scored four goals and registered five assists from 29 games for Watford this season. After not entertaining approaches from Everton and Sporting, Valérien Ismaël?s side hope that Asprilla will impress for the club, his national team, and the subject of better offers in the summer.
The South American?s contract lasts until 2026 and whether Everton will return for him remains to be seen.
