Brazilian side Atlético-MG are set to potentially benefit for years down the line from Savio?s impending move to Manchester City.
That?s according to Antenados No Futebol, who cover the situation today and comments Rodrigo Caetano, a former director at the Brazilian club who was heavily involved in the original deal to sell the Brazilian forward.
Savio is set to join Manchester City in the summer after impressing on loan at Girona this season, one of the other clubs in the City Group network.
It?s been a quick rise for the 19-year-old, who joined Troyes, also part of the City Group, in a ?6.5m deal in 2022.
He spent last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven but struggled to impress and was sent out to Girona this year, where he?s impressed hugely and earned himself a move to Manchester Citty. The whole affair has seen questions raised about the initial deal to sell him ?6.5m now that a move to the Etihad seems to be on the cards, with some believing the Brazilian side should have gotten more.
It seems they may do in future, though, with Caetano and Antenados explaining there is potentially more money in the pipeline should he continue to rise.
?In this second transfer, another resource will come to the club and, consequently, the overall negotiation will be a little more favourable,? they quote Caetano saying at a press conference.
