On Thursday, rumours stated Manchester United have set their sights on Lazio goalkeeper Chr?stos Mandas, to replace Altay Bay?nd?r, who is expected to leave Old Trafford in the summer window.
Friday?s edition of Corriere dello Sport relays that and adds that it?s not Manchester United, but Manchester City who are interested in the 22-year-old.
It?s claimed Manchester City have carried out ?real contact? and that took place two weeks ago.
Ivan Provedel has been the first-choice goalkeeper at the Serie A side this season, but he?s been on the sidelines since March due to an ankle injury. This has opened the door for Mandas to have opportunities in recent weeks.
The Greece international has started the last six league games, keeping three clean sheets and conceding four goals in the process. His fine displays seem to have pleased Manchester City, who have initiated contact with his entourage.
