As things stand, there appears little that Radu Dragusin can do to get into the starting line-up at Tottenham after his big move to London from Genoa.
The defender has only played 30 minutes of football since his move to Spurs, with each of his appearances coming from the bench, and the fact both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are in fine form isn?t helping.
In fact, it?s left one particular Romanian manager disappointed, as Mihai Iosif travelled to watch the game against Crystal Palace in hope of seeing the Tottenham centre-back play, having been invited by the player?s agent, Florin Manea.
He first praised the infrastructure put in place by the Premier League side, before touching on Dragusin?s situation.
He told Playsport: ?Tottenham?s manager made it very clear that he is not changing the system, he played with the same defenders. One is a world champion, one is in good form. Surely Radu?s turn will come and then he will have to prove his worth. ?We have to be patient, definitely. I don?t know what?s more important: playing for a small team each week or being in a team in these leagues and fighting for a starting place. I think that?s the ideal. That?s my opinion, if I was at a big club, I would give my best to earn my place in the team.?
It was always improbable that Dragusin would slot straight into Ange Postecoglou?s side at Tottenham when he first arrived, such was the competition, but there will be a role for him in the future.
