Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison has just revealed the club in Brazil he supports.
Despite having played for Fluminense in the past, he now spoke to Desimpedidos and claimed that he’s always cheered for another club from Rio de Janeiro, which is Vasco da Gama.
In quotes brought by Globo Esporte, Richarlison came up with the reasons why he grew supporting the club.
“Can it be two" Fluminense or Vasco. My whole family is Vasco, I’m a tricolour because I played there, but I’m Vasco. This is the first time I’ve mentioned my team in Brazil. It’s those two teams and América-MG too.”
The Tottenham player also revealed that due to the time zone, his support for Vasco means that he arrives quite tired at the training ground the day after, having stayed up to watch them play. “I follow Vasco here late at night, I arrive at the training centre so tired, sometimes angry (laughs).”
The news may not have so much impact these days, but when Richarlison is done with European football and decides to return to Brazil, that will certainly weigh on the battle to sign him, with Vasco possibly having an advantage.
Richarlison started his career at América-MG, having joined Fluminense in 2016. It was in the summer of 2017 that he moved to Europe, having first joined Watford, with Everton signing him in 2018.
